How to Connect the PsP to any Modern Network - Fix it Friday Ep: 16
22 Dec hi i recently bought a psp and in the time i had it before the screen cracked after a day when i tried connecting to my home wifi or college wifi. I'm REALLY not a genius when it comes to internet connections and such, but i managed to fix the same problem! I had the same problem, ate my guts out of. My SSID is greyed out when I scan and it says "Not Supported" I have a PSP Slim and this is the first time I'm trying to connect to the Wireless since getting my router in my apartment. I had no trouble connecting it to my Mom's wireless in the past so I don't think it's anything with the PSP, also oddly enough I can select the . Your PSP can connect to the internet as long as you have access to a wireless network, which will allow you to surf the web and play certain games against other people online If the switch is turned off, you won't be able to connect to a wireless network. . What should I do if my PSP says a connection error has occurred?.
The PSP already supports most of the more popular encryptions, so I doubt that there'll be a firmware update for more.
SOLVED: Why cant I connect to internet.. not supported - PSP - iFixit
Link a bit strange that it wouldn't connect to your college wi-fi nor your home connection. You may have to phone Sony: Only problem was that it had a password. But i have heard that there is a patch you can get on the internet that cracks all wifi passwords.
I'm having the same problem. I bought the Metal Gears Solid edition and tried to connect with my Apple Time Capsule and it told me psp wifi not supported. I've tried changing all the security settings around with no luck.

I tried to connect my psp a hundred times with all different types of passwords! What I did is I just disabled my router's password, then I connected the psp to it manually, choose password: However, if I want to make a new connection and press scan, the same network name appears on the screen and it's still not supported If this method doesn't work, I really don't know what else to do.
While I was trying, I changed sooo many settings on my connections, really messed things up! R1fty, that's very helpful to know!
Re: PspGO Wifi Problems
And probably the problem I have right now with a brand new psp. But how do I make that change or check what my router's broadcasting under?
I entered everything in manually also all of my internet info and still didnt work until I found this and found out it was a WPA2. Please help im about to go nuts lol.
Guys, all you need to do is change your wifi mode to "B Only". So you may want to give it a try. Thanks cketernity, you had the correct answer, change the security type you http://24dating.me/feru/where-to-find-a-great-guy.php using on your WiFi network WPA2 is not supported by the PSP at this time. What a pain in the butt Sony could fix with a simple software update to support the more secure WPA2 encryption.
If it wasn't trouble enough just going into everything and changing to the encryption type and password nothing would connect after doing this.
All of my devices store the WiFi connection information and I did not want to change the name SSID of my wireless network, so I also had to go in and remove the stored data from all of my devices to establish the new connection. Here's a tip to others with this problem, since you have to change everything anyhow, make it easy on yourself and change the name SSID of your wireless network as well or you will also have to figure out how to remove the old stored data in all of your devices.
Try mixed mode before switching all of your devices to the much slower and outdated "B Only". Might want to check your local laws before allowing your WiFi network to run with no security. In the US at least, you are responsible for your network security, many people have been arrested for illegal activity on their home network which they were not directly guilty of only because someone else outside took advantage of their lack of security for illegal activities like child porn and pirating.
This isn't something Why Wont My Psp Hook Up To Internet "could" happen, it "is" happening. Not to mention running with no security means all of your online activity can easily be accessed by others, and people sneaking onto your unsecure network will dramaticly reduce your own connection speeds.
When I change anything it won't let me connect to the internet anymore! I also have a Linksys router. I am not computer savvy at all!
I really need "barney" style of how to do things. If anyone can help me out that would be great! I honestly don't know how to change the "G" to "B" or "Mixed" lol I didn't even know you could do a such thing! If anybody can help me out with this, that source be super appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I just fired on the PSP to go online yesterday and I changed my wireless settings for it's here. Yet my wife uses the wifi with her laptop from the otherside of the house no problems!! The psp uses wireless B, there's a strong chance your router is broadcasting in wireless G only - I had this issue: Does anyone know how to connect my psp to this type of mac device? I would appreciate it! I had the same problem, ate my guts out of frustration while trying to fix it. Maybe give it a try! It also says its not supported I have a netgear router, do more info know how i could change that so that it will support my psp?
