The campsite is located 5mins away from stonehenge via car although we walked from the campsite and this took approx 1 hour 30 mins each way - the campsites wardens will give you a map and point you in the right direction. I would highly recommend walking to stonehenge as not only do you skip the parking charge. 23 Sep The one-acre, family-run Stonehenge Campsite is the nearest camping, motorhome and touring site to the famous stones, with plentiful facilities on site, but do pipe down in the evenings as the park has a strict no noise policy past 10pm (campers need to get their 40 winks if they're going to read more. We pulled up in our vw without booking we wasn't in peak time we were greeted by the marshals and I have to say everyone was really nice. The facilities are the cleanest we've ever used and anyone w Not here however, the toilets were super clean the showers were lovely and hot and the 20p needed to use them is donated to the local air ambulance which is an awesome idea. The area was always clean and there's even a communal kitchen area where you can clean all your kit, a fridge freezer in case you don't have a cool box.
And even local produce for you to use. And if you this web page a walk there is a beautiful footpath that leads out the campsite where you can explore all the gorgeous areas around.
Will definitely be coming back here. A lovely campsite, on an ideal location. However Jason who I believe looks after the grounds was lovely and very welcoming.
My advice is if you have no children and you are looking for a place to get your head down for the night this is the camp site.
In the past 12 months we have camped and traveled 's of miles all over the UK and Europe staying in numerous sites without ever any problems Close Report a problem Reason: Lovely little touches like the fire pits for hire which come with marshmallows to toast.
If you have children and there's more than 2 of you In the past 12 months we have camped and traveled 's of miles all over the UK and Europe staying in numerous sites without ever any problems A beautiful place in an beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful campsite with great walks, nice local pub and farm shop. Facilities are ok although lacking in showers and toilets for the men. Our stay was completely ruined by some of the wardens. Our friend could not get close enough to a hook up for their lead so had to hire a longer one, again a little annoying. But the worst part of the stay was our encounter with the older female warden. We had noticed a number of dogs being walked off the lead and with a big open space in the field we thought nothing of playing some fetch with our very well behaved border collie.
Then over came said warden. Opening line "I should ask Adults Hookup Are We Gonna Do Stonehenge Location Map to leave now!
If that dog is off it's lead again I will eject you off the site! Then it seemed like select dogs were allowed off the lead just not ours. Anyway this site has so much potential, if the old "head mistress" was retired.
Lovely campsite in a great location for Stonehenge. Loved the fire pits and the wardens were very welcoming - especially Liane. Only downside was the lack of showers as there was quite a queue in the However, this was fully explained.
We travelled with our dog who was also made more than welcome and had some click walks along the foot path. After reading other reviews, yes the rules are strict but it's a lovely campsite and for us, worth a few Adults Hookup Are We Gonna Do Stonehenge Location Map.
Will definitely be staying again. We have just come back after two amazing weeks at the Stonehenge Campsite. This is actually our second summer visiting the site and we can't speak highly enough of it.
The wardens make you feel like f You couldn't get a better location for exploring Wiltshire and the neighbouri ng counties. Five stars for this little gem and thank you for a fabulous holiday. Overall it is a lovely setting for a camp site the facilities were spotlessly clean. I was also impressed with the 20p shower and hair dryer money going to charity. Unfortunat ely what let this site We were a group booking wanting a relaxed article source reunion however to be treated like a group of naughty school children was not necessary to the point that one of our party couldn't even use the washing up facilities without being watched was shocking.
Also to be threatened on departing at I would of said I'd come back to this site however until there is a change of wardens I'm afraid I will not be returning.
Another fact which we found out about was that as guest to the campsite we should of been given a discount voucher for the local pub however we did not receive any such voucher.
Thankfully to Pub manager still allocated us the discount. Fab location, fab staff! We stayed in the very cute shepherds hut- lovelya little home from home and a perfect spot to sit out in the field with the other campers watching the amazing Perseid ligh Staying for 4 nights in January Beautiful site in great location.
Wardens Phil and Sharontina very welcoming, helpful and friendly and do all they can to make the stay a real pleasure. Article source very hard to beat. A very clean and peaceful setting.
We stayed in the butterfly pod, we used it as a base for visiting surroundin g areas. The toilet facilities were spotless, the campers kitchen was basic maybe a toast Overall it was awesome and we would recommend the site.
We're new to camping and have approached this with an open mind. The site is lovely when we arrived it was probably almost full. Now here comes the one downside on the campsite, not enough showers. That said it still did not stop me giving five stars. The managers bought ice lollies for the kids when it hot, brought wood down for our fire pit very helpful not overbearin g at all.
Our camping trip to Stonehenge Campsite has been a resounding success. The wardens are great very friendly and welcoming, we will definitely come back. Lovely part of England great campsite See more. Tried out our new T25vw camper last night. We had electric hook up But still out in the field, with our little fire pit. Very accommodat ing and great facilities. I really enjoyed the camp here, it's beautiful. I'm shocked to read some of the comments, both my partner and I found the staff to be pleasant and friendly.
Even when our neighbours partner's parents I think maybe some of the issue is people like to stamp and throw a tantrum to get their own way and expect a silver spoon service each and every Adults Hookup Are We Gonna Do Stonehenge Location Map.
When they get put in their place, it's so unexpected in this 'the customer is always right' culture, that people mistake defending as rudeness. It's only a theory however. I think the site has some room for improvemen t, which is why I have given 4 stars instead of 5. You could invest in another Shower block specifical ly for families, say a PortaCabin partitione Adults Hookup Are We Gonna Do Stonehenge Location Map into 4 separate family blocks consisting of a toilet, baby changing facilities and shower.
Spinal Tap - Stonehenge
I think the lack of showers is limiting, but definitely not an inhibitory reason not to visit the campsite as it is beautiful and peaceful. I don't know if you already have this facility in place, but maybe the sale of 'essential s' toiletrie s, a few sweets for kids, towels etc could increase profit for the site.
I'd also suggest - if you haven't already got one - an automatic external defibrilla tor AED just because of how lifesaving these devices can be in rural areas such as yours having noticed your support for the local air ambulance. Hope you find these comments both pleasant to read and I hope you don't mind these suggestion s.

Thanks again for a wonderful time. Beautiful site well kept solstice festival fab but if disabled dont even go there I use a wheelchair but can stand and walk very little find steps challengin g and only showers were up steps door had t Lovely and beautiful and friendly site with great amenities and lovely helpful owners!
Just a slight shame it was marred by some very uptight caravaners with lovely dogs who weren't the actual proble Sometimes strict 'rules' don't solve a problem This place is awesome.
Great having the little shop onsite. I was also impressed with the 20p shower and hair dryer money going to charity. No noise after 11pm.
Well set out and spotless facilities. If you want to see stonehenge and the history that's in this part of the world then this is the base. Plus picturesqu e village with quint p What more do you need? Stayed in the Butterfly pod.
Kettle, mini fridge and heater inside pod sufficient.
